UPDATE: THE CAMPAIGN IS LIVE! PLEASE PLEDGE TODAY!

On February 6, 2023, Iron Circus Comics — one of the premier independent comics publishers — launches its crowdfunding campaign for Failure to Launch: A Tour of Ill-Fated Futures. This volume includes comics essays by luminaries such as Ryan North (whose contribution you can preview here), Evan Dahm, and two guys named Matthew R Francis and Maki Naro!

Our contribution talks about the first and unfortunately failed attempt to bring widespread wind power to the world, in the 1920s, ’30s, and ’40s. I first found out about this when I learned my great-grandfather, Charles Francis, had a 32-volt wind turbine installed on the family farm in the 1930s. And he wasn’t alone! Many other farmers across the United States and Australia put up their own turbines, giving us a glimpse of what might have been.

Please pledge and boost!

Iron Circus Comics is an independent, Black-owned publisher that has brought the world many award-winning comics, including Banned Book Club, Poorcraft, Rice Boy, and Girls With Slingshots.
