The answer is yes! Even if we never find another planet that can sustain life again, Earth has shown life is possible in our universe. Given the amazing exoplanet discoveries over the last decade, I’d be surprised now if no other planet is life-sustaining, but there’s one we know for certain.

On Earth Day, remember that this world of ours is a wonderful place, full of a diversity of life from the tiniest weirdest archeaon up to the largest blue whale. Let us work together as a species to help keep life on Earth diverse, healthy, and strong.
